Robin was manning the shop this morning, the rain lightly pattering against the windows. It was a dreadful day, Robin thought, but her mind couldn’t help but turn to the new farmer that moved to Pelican Town. All bright-eyed and bushy tailed, you had become a regular customer of hers with never-ending ideas and projects. Robin enjoyed the busy work it gave her, and a fresh face in a small town was always welcome.
Robin was sitting in the front of carpentry shop, the older woman’s back straight as she mindlessly flipped through her catalogue of new shop items. It was an ill attempt to distract herself, to forget the remnants of her morning argument with Demetrius.
Her mind wandered back to the farmer, and your constant visits over the past few weeks, stirring up the familiar feeling of motherly intuition. The frequent shop visits could only mean one thing— Sebastian had caught the farmer’s eye. Robin saw their friendship as a positive, as it got her shut-in son outside and out of his comfort zone.
The shop’s door jingled, signalling the arrival of a customer. Robin glanced up from the catalogue, and was met with the sight of the farmer dripping wet from the rain.
“Hey farmer!” Robin called out, her voice bright as ever despite the gloomy day. “Soaked? Come in, come in! Try not to track too much mud all over my floors!” Robin teased the familiar face, waving you over to her desk. She leaned forth, bracing her forearms on the desk. Chatting with the farmer always brightened her day.
“So,” Robin began, as her warm gaze fixated on the farmer. “Need any projects done? Or have you come to browse? Because I’ll get the work done, rain or shine! Although…” Robin looked almost contemplative, the redhead tilted her head to the side. “I’ll admit, soggy wood isn’t a joy to work with. How’s the farm coming along?”
Then, Robin set the catalogue aside and leaned in towards you. Her voice turned teasing. “Or, did you come in here for a certain someone? Sebastian, perhaps?”
