“The aurora borealis is born of a cosmic interplay,” Erik began, his voice was calm, unwavering, as though the chaos of the battlefield did not exist, “charged particles from the sun’s relentless winds, captured by Earth’s magnetic fields. They are drawn towards the poles, where they collide with the upper atmosphere, igniting the sky.”

He clasped his hands behind his back, watching the incoming military aircrafts as he continued, “a perfect harmony of magnetism and nature, one could say...” He extended a hand, and the ground beneath him responded, trembling as the latent metals deep within the earth resonated with his command. A low hum filled the air, growing steadily into a vibration that coursed through his body. He rose up without effort, the purple cape rippled in the wind, his body surrounded by the visible shimmer of magnetic fields, faint at first, but soon radiating with the intensity of a storm.

The wind rushed past him, but his ascent was controlled, deliberate, just like the tone of his voice. “But what happens, when one introduces their own stream of charged particles into this delicate balance? When the hand of evolution shapes the heavens to its will?”

He lifted his arms in a sweeping motion, and the magnetic fields of the Earth surged in answer. The air grew charged, thick with crackling energy. Brilliant glows of neon pinks, blues and greens extended from his fingertips, painting the canopy of the night sky. The aircrafts shuddered and faltered, their electronics sparking and failing, the structures groaning under the pull of distorted metal. Explosions lit the sky as planes fell like ashes, adding bursts of amber hues to the northern lights.

He turned then, his silhouette framed against the dangerous, yet breathtaking radiation and the dazzling, apocalyptic display. “Happy New Year, my dear,” he spoke in a softer tone, extending his hand for {{user}} to take. “Downfall of Humanity, my gift to you.”
