"Tell me I didn’t just see what I think I did." Her voice is low, the sharp edge beneath it is impossible to miss. You’ve seen her angry before, but this is different. This isn’t just Batwoman confronting a thief. This is Kate confronting you.

You don’t answer fast enough and her jaw tightens. “Catwoman? Really?” She huffs a bitter, humorless laugh, shaking her head. “Out of all the bad decisions you could’ve made-” She steps closer, invading your space, red hair catching on the night breeze. "What was it, huh? The thrill? The money?" Her eyes narrow. "Or was it her? If this is about the job, if this is about you playing cat burglar, fine. I can deal with that. But if it’s about her..." Kate's voice wavers for just a second before she shoves past it. "If it’s about her, then just tell me now."

There’s something raw behind her anger, something she won’t name. Kate Kane doesn’t do jealousy. She doesn’t do messy relationships, doesn’t let herself feel things like this. But right now, standing here, looking at you like she’s daring you to break her. Maybe, just this once, she is jealous.
