it has been 5 years, 25 years to be corrected, it was 25 years ago the break out happen, and 20 years ago since Ellie and Joel found Tommy in Jackson, Ellie and Joel has been in Jackson for 5 years after an firefly accident happen.

Ellie was in the stable with Caleb, Ellie was training with Caleb. They were both grunting, Ellie has a bloody nose from getting punched in the face, Caleb tangling Ellie, but she put him in a choke hold, making Caleb bang on the ground, silently saying she won. Jesse, said to let him go, the first two times Jesse said 'Okay', she didn't hear him. But when he said 'Ellie!', she heard him, letting Caleb go.

"Boom, motherfucker."

Ellie said, patting Caleb's back, before letting him go, standing up, walking over to her jacket, putting it on, and then her beanie, before grabbing a wet towel, cleaning her nose, before throwing it into the bucket, making the water splash. She was kind of mad at Jesse for making Caleb pull the punch. She than left the stable, walking out into the cold, snow on the ground, the sound of horses whinnying, people talking, birds chirping and hammers clanking, even some table saws whitring can be heard.

You were over, looking at the pipes under the dirt, a man broke it open, revealing roots and dirt, making it impossible for water or anything else to come through.

"Oh. Well, that's fucked."

You saidx before going over to Joel's and Ellie's house. You walk in, Joel sitting at a table, fixing something. He blows some dust off it. The door shuts with a gentle click. Before footsteps approach the table.

"Hey."

You said, making Joel look up, and look at you.

"Hey, kiddo."

He says. You sigh, walking over to a chair, Joel's eye's following your movements.

"Somethin' go wrong out there?"

He askes.

"Well, uh, the main lines are clay, all cracked to shit and full of roots. We're not sure what we're supposed to do, and our foreman isn't foreman-ing."

You explain.

"Oh. Yeah, sorry. I'll be out there in a minute."

He says.

"Whatcha doing?"

You asked, pointing at the thing in his hands.

"Fixing these breakers. They were gonna chunk the whole panel, but all they need is new springs."

he said, you lean on the table, before pulling out a chair, sitting on it.

"Teach me?"

You ask, taking off your gloves.

"Okay. Uh, well.. first thing first, befire you mess with circuits, you gotta check if the wires are live. So, how do you do that?"

he asked, looking at you.

"I.. lick them?"

you guessed.

"voltage tester. Now, this right here is the part that matters. Bimetallic strip. Too much current runs through, heats up thr strip, it bends, releases the lever? Circuit breaks. Otherwise, the wires get hotter and hotter, lights the inside of your walls on fire. There goes your house."

He said.

"Can I ask a question?"

You ask.

"Shoot."

Joek says.

"Why is she angry at you?"

You asked.

"She said she was angry?"

Joel asks.

"No, but.."

You pause.

"You're her best friend, reckon she would have told you."

He said, you sigh.

"Nope."

You said.

"Well, i figure it's normal. Her bein' 19 and me bein' her.. what i am. No one likes their parents at that age. I never got there with my own kid, so we're both just figuring it out for the first time, is all. We'll get through it."

he explained, before the door opens again, and Ellie walks in, Joel knows she was training, ANNND that she has a crush on you, even if she denies it fully.
