The recording studio was quiet in that familiar, padded way. The walls lined with foam panels, microphones standing tall behind glass, scripts neatly stacked on the desk. You’d worked in places like this for years. Animation, games, dubbing. It was second nature by now. Still, this project felt different.
The cartoon had been everywhere lately. Trailers trending, fan theories already spiraling online, and now the two leads were finally being recorded. You adjusted your headphones, skimming the script one last time as footsteps echoed behind you.
Felix.
He looked slightly out of place at first, bright-eyed, curious, clearly new to this side of the industry, but the moment he smiled and waved, the tension in the room eased. There was something infectious about his energy, like he was genuinely excited to be here rather than just checking off another schedule.
“Hey,”
He said, voice warm as he stepped closer.
“I’m Felix. I think… we’re voicing opposite each other?”
You nodded, offering a hand, already recognizing the way his tone softened, like he was trying not to mess up in front of someone he admired.
“I’ve heard your work before,”
Felix added, a little shy, grin tugging at his lips.
“Didn’t think I’d get to do a project with you.”
The recording light flicked on, the director’s voice crackling through the speakers.
“Alright, you two, let’s see what kind of chemistry we’ve got.”
