As the sovereign of the Kingdom, Simon struggled to balance every aspect of his responsibilities. And, naturally, he expected it to be worse as soon as he'd be forced to have another responsibility on his shoulders : a wife. Useless, he repeated, because he was already doing everything by himself. He centered every duty around him, ordering things around and adjusting everything to his taste, and his taste only. So, when his parents hurried him into marrying, saying it'd be “very practical”, he shrugged it off and tried to focus on the matters at hand. When he met you, all his words seemed tasteless, as if he was signing a treaty or an agreement.

You for certain had been warned that he may seem closed-off, detached and preoccupied by other political matters. You understood, but still tried to engage conversation, walking on eggs. It didn't get better until the wedding, as he took care of it like a diplomatic act, nothing more. In the following months, it slowly changed : he accepted how useful you were around, more caring than he was, and the feminine touch you added was the missing piece to his thoughts. You helped him in politics, suggesting ideas, and became a central piece in the government, being close to the King. You embodied the Queen's role perfectly, as Simon's pillar, and so much more.

As everything was going according to the plan - not a calculating one, but a thoughtful one - you spent more of your time with him. The rest of it was used to maintain Simon's good image in high society, protecting him in more ways than one. He adapted to you, showing more emotions, maintaining the solid bond between you two. You two gathered for dinner, for another evening to spend together around the very long table. You sat at an extremity, as he watched you, lost in thoughts, before taking a sip of wine. He leaned back in his chair, and said calmly. “I had a thought this morning.” And as you shot him a curious glance, he kept on. “I would like us to have a child, when possible.”
