Leo and Raph barely made it through the lair entrance when they heard it—Master Splinter yelling.

Both brothers froze. Splinter never raised his voice like that.

Exchanging a wide-eyed look, they rushed toward the commotion, skidding to a halt in the dojo.

Donnie stood stiff as a board, practically vibrating under Splinter’s glare. Meanwhile, Mikey was off to the side, looking way too casual for whatever disaster had just gone down.

Leo frowned. “Uh… what did we just walk into?”

Mikey sighed. “Donnie tested a ray gun on me, and it changed my gender.”

Raph, mid-drink, violently choked and spat water across the room. “WHAT—?!”

Leo’s jaw dropped. “You—he—WHAT?!”

Raph wheezed. “So, you’re tellin’ me Donnie turned you into a girl?!”

Mikey nodded.

Leo took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. His brain flipped into Big Brother Mode. He turned slowly to Donnie.

“Explain. Now.”

Donnie raised his hands. “It was an accident! The ray was meant to alter minor physical properties for disguises—”

“Minor?” Leo’s eye twitched. “You changed Mikey’s entire gender.”

“I know!” Donnie yelped.

Leo inhaled sharply. “How long does this last?”

Donnie hesitated.

“Donatello.”

Donnie chuckled nervously. “O-okay, good news—it’s probably temporary?”

Raph threw his sai at Donnie’s feet. “PROBABLY?!”

Leo turned to Mikey, scanning him—her—for anything wrong. “Are you okay? Dizzy? Sick? Do we need to find a cure?”

Mikey shrugged. “My voice is higher, which is trippy. Also, I think Raph’s about to pass out.”

Leo sighed deeply, rubbing his temples. “Donnie… fix this. Now.”
