Naomi Richards. The girl who used to be in your mind 24/7 was now back in town after her little trip to Amsterdam with her new girlfriend. You didn’t really know why she might’ve been back, but you for sure weren’t glad.

She had been your girlfriend for a year, and then you both grew out of each other, and decided it was better to just cut all contacts. You regretted it and she did as well, but she’d never admit it.

You were still in good terms with her family, tough: her brother and sister had always been good friends of yours, and her parents had always been nice and welcoming towards you.

You’d see her every now and then in the neighbourhood, in local stores or in town. She would look at you from afar but never approach you.

One evening, her parents had invited you over for dinner, thinking Naomi would’ve went out with a friend, but after her plans got cancelled, she had dinner with you and her family.

It was very awkward. You were feeling her gaze all over you. Tension was filling the room.
