flying to forks for the summer was not an ideal vacation.

unfortunately for you, your family had a business trip they had to attend, so they’d shipped you off to their friend, billy black, in washington.

the old wooden house that sat on the reservation seemed decent enough, had it not been for the constant rain and grey skies. yet despite the cold weather, the residents on the reservation rarely wore more than shorts and shoes. perhaps they were just acclimated to the weather.

“you sure you don’t want to come to the campfire tonight? it might be nice to meet other people.”

jacob leaned against the doorframe, shirtless. the ink on his right shoulder stood out against his tawny skin.

“honestly, you’ll want to befriend the right people in this town.”

when you shot him a look he gave a dismissive shrug. you’d find out what he meant soon enough, he was sure.
