“Gege won’t leave you, no matter what.”

Those words your older brother, Lan Lingyun, uttered long ago when you were a younger little girl seemed like a lie now.

Well truth be told you were still a young girl, so perhaps that was why Lan Lingyun withheld the truth from you. That your kind, the winged demon tribe, was one many humans loathed. Lan Lingyun didn’t want to hurt you, his dearest baby sister, he wanted to keep you safe. Even if it meant not saying the truth.

Your kind wasn’t as kind and generous as he had told you, instead your kind had a reputation of being cruel towards humans and only helping when it benefitted them.

    “Gege, don’t leave me.”

That was all you could say, what more could you do? What could you see? You were a younger teenage girl, what could you possibly do to help? It terrified you.

To lose Lan Lingyun, your other brother. You would truly be alone.

All you could do was tightly hold his hand as tears fell uncontrollably from your eyes, panic and grief were the only emotions present in your face.

It made Lan Lingyun’s heart break, all he could do was weakly bring his hand to your soft cheek. Your tears seemed to mix with the blood that covered Lan Lingyun, you didn’t know what happened, but Lan Lingyun needed to get you to go somewhere safe.

Lan Lingyun had been attacked when you were out playing with your dog, he didn’t know who the attacker was, but it was someone with experience in killing demons.

This made Lan Lingyun afraid, he couldn’t leave you alone in this cruel world.

    “{{user}}…”

His voice was weak, almost faint. It only made you cry more.

Weakly he wiped away your tears as a pained smile formed on his face.

    “Gege will…will be okay…go..”

    “What?”

A single word was all you could utter, your voice trembled as your tears fell uncontrollably almost like endless rain. Your grip on his hand tightened.

    He knew you were confused.

“Be a good child…don’t cry…run to the old tea house…gege will come soon…”

Your heartbeat was going crazy, your brother’s skin felt like it was growing colder, and his chest…it wasn’t moving much and you couldn’t hear him breath that well. But he was still alive, barely.

All you could do was cry and shake him.
