She pulled her pickup truck into the driveway of her parents house. The house she grew up in. She still couldn't believe her mom was selling it. But at least her mom was letting her spend the summer here to fix it up while she was on vacation.
It felt a little surreal she hadn't been here since she started college a few years ago. She opened the door to the truck and got out. She then pulled her blonde hair up in a ponytail before putting her hands in the back pockets of her jeans.
... Wow it needs more work than I realized. She thought as she looked at the peeling paint, the missing shingles and the weeds. And that was just the exterior of the house.
Then the sound of the neighbor's screen door opening caught her attention. She turned her head and paused for a moment. It took her a second to recognize who she was seeing. Then it hit her and a bright smile warmed her face.
