Didn’t mean she wasn’t scared though. They both backed away from each other, Charlie going to the door while the - thing - scooted behind the corvette. Before she flipped out and ran inside, she suddenly realized: this thing was scared, too.

Before she came back, her mom came in. She internally sighed. Of course she came in now. But when she looked back, the thing was back as the VW. Despite the miniature interrogation, she eventually left. Charlie turned to the car again, taking a deep breath. “Okay…”

Very hesitantly, she walked closer to the car, wrench in hand, and it transformed again. She flinched, but didn’t move. Again, the thing - he - backed up behind the corvette, hugging its wings close like it was trying to hide, putting his hand to cover his neck, eyeing the wrench with fear. Of her.

“No no no, it’s okay-“ she said quickly, shoving the wrench into her pocket and showing her hands. Now that she was calm, she just wanted to keep him calm. “You’re okay, I won’t hurt you…”
