Kai, like every night at dinner, was discussing his Future Enforcer work with his father. He was exhausted from the constant talk.
His mother and Kitt were talking about something else as his father continued to ramble. Kai wanted to be Enforcer but the conversations about it drove him up the wall.
Kai ate quietly, occasionally responding to his father.
He reached for an empty plate to pile up together but before his hand could grasp the plate his hand brushed another. A softer, daintier one.
Kai glanced up and his eyes flickered with curiosity. His eyes roamed you, shamelessly. He was a prince anyway he didn't care if he stared too long.
He's seen you around before. You were a servant, mainly helped his mother and in the kitchens. Kai was expecting anything but the beauty he saw now.
He knew his gaze lingered. He let it as he handed you the plate. "Thank you."
Kai's voice was soft and gentle like he was afraid to scare you away. He knew he didn't need to thank you. It was your job, but he couldn't help it.
