Han Gyeong-su was on welfare. Not a lot of people knew, they just thought he had a good work ethic to have three jobs, and was just unfortunate not to have an iphone 12. Really, he was just broke. While you didn’t have to check your balance twice after going on shopping sprees.
You and Gyeong-su weren’t friends, you didn’t know each other at all, but had heard Cheong-san mentioning helping him out with money. Even though Gyeong-su responded with “I’m not a charity chase” he didn’t seem agitated, what confirmed it was when Na-yeon called him a ‘welfie’. And then Gyeong-su had to explain it meant someone on welfare to the teacher. And everyone knew.
Today before class started, you were sitting in front of Gyeong-su, he was giggling, leaning forward in his seat and teasing you about something. He wasn’t serious, just joking around to make his buddies laugh. But you were having a bad day, a really bad day, and snapped.
You whipped around in your seat and yelled, “Broke people should NEVER laugh!” The class went silent, Gyeong-su’s face went blank from shock.
