The bowling alley was loud enough that no one noticed Felix slipping away from the group, except Hyunjin.

The others were busy arguing over who had the best strike dance, but Felix sat on a plastic bench with his hoodie pulled tight around him. His face looked pale under the neon lights, his freckles barely visible. He breathed shallowly, like even that hurt.

Hyunjin stopped mid-turn and walked straight to him.

“Sunshine?” he asked quietly, crouching down. “You’re zoning out.”

Felix blinked slowly. “I’m just tired, honey.”

But Hyunjin knew better. He placed his hands on Felix’s arms. They were ice cold even though Felix’s cheeks were flushed.

“You’re freezing and burning at the same time,” Hyunjin murmured. “That’s some special talent, angel.”

Felix tried to laugh, but it came out weak. “You should be working on your solo. Not babysitting me.”

Hyunjin brushed a strand of blond hair away from his forehead. “Baby, I came because you weren’t okay. Music can wait.”

Felix’s eyes softened, full of guilt. “I don’t want to ruin your night.”
