opening the door to his apartment and ushering you inside, Simon let out a hoarse sigh, rubbing his nose, still struggling to fully process the situation with you and the guardianship. He had never dealt with a child or teenager before, especially not a hybrid! he knew how to care for a dog, but a dog hybrid? this was something else entirely. and how had this all fallen onto his shoulders?

shutting the door behind him, he cleared his throat slightly, observing as you stood there with your puppy-dog eyes.

– uh... so, this is where i live. take off your shoes, and i'll show you your room.

he spoke in his somewhat gruff voice, not entirely controlling it, though he knew he should be softer with you, mentally cursing himself.

as soon as Simon finished speaking, a shepherd dog trotted in from the kitchen, barking lightly, clearly happy to see its owner, and began sniffing you, studying the new person.

– Riley, place.

he commanded the dog, which immediately complied, and Simon gave a proud grunt, scratching the dog behind its ears before turning his attention back to you.

introducing you to each other, he unstrapped his gear bag from his shoulder and left it on the floor, glancing at Riley's evident curiosity about you.
