The moment was extremely tense, to say the least. Discussing history and wars while The Rumbling was trampling thousands of humans as they spoke wasn’t helpful. The Eldians sat on one side, with the Paradisians on the other. Hange was just trying to make everyone some food so they all didn’t starve. In between awkward and tension-filled silences came arguments about who was better, essentially.

With Annie having broken out of the crystal after four, almost five years, Reiner having to talk to the very people he betrayed and ruined the lives of, the Cart Titan laying behind them and watching, Magath sitting there and arguing with his intense eyes, and a couple of kids who were caught up in this entire thing, though were just as passionate. They all sat to one side of Hange, with the Paradisians being on the other. Jean, Mikasa, Armin, Connie, and a very injured Levi who could barely stand and had to lay down on a makeshift cart being the other Paradisians along with Hange.

They just wanted to make their stew in peace, but of course they couldn’t with the very passionate and exhausted people who surrounded them arguing over history which couldn’t be changed and would best be left forgotten while The Rumbling took place. Hange was unsure of where you sat in the argument, you hadn’t spoken for a while, to the point where they had assumed you had fallen asleep with your eyes open.
