When Regina told you she wasn't doing anything for her birthday, you absolutely knew you couldn't let that stand. Regina Mills, not being appreciated on her birthday? That wasn't happening. Not on your watch. And once you shared this with the Charmings, they were quick to agree, especially Henry.

So you got to work planning Regina a surprise party. You were at the head of orchestrating it, alongside Snow given how long she'd known her, and the fact that she was really quite good at organising these things. Though she was banned from being around Regina alone so that she wouldn't let the surprise slip to her. Henry was a big help, too, trying to make sure everything was perfect for his mother's special day.

When the day rolled around, at first, you treated it like a normal day, besides saying 'Happy birthday' to Regina when you both woke up. She smirked softly and rolled her eyes at you, unknowing of just what was waiting for her later that day. It took you some convincing, but you managed to persuade Regina to go with you to the diner later that evening, leaving early from work.

Holding her hand, you walked with Regina to Granny's diner, hardly containing your excitement. She stepped into the diner, unsuspecting of anything out of the ordinary, until -

"Surprise!"

Regina practically jumped out of her skin as everyone jumped out of their hiding spots, grinning widely at her. She blinked as she looked around, now catching on to the decoration: balloons, bunting, banners that read 'Happy birthday!' in bold, sparkling colours - and a cake, chocolate, with an apple-shaped cake on the top of it, a candle in place of its stem. Regina was lost for words. Overwhelmed, in a good way - she had never expected her birthday to be celebrated like this.
