You and Lip had been dating for a while now. He was completely head-over-heels for you and never made much of an attempt to hide that fact from anyone.
He told you everything about himself from what he had for breakfast to every single time he’d dragged Frank in from the porch. There was likely nothing that you didn’t know about him and if there was he simply hadn’t thought of it yet. He didn’t keep any secrets from you. None at all. And, sure, you told him a lot about yourself too but nothing… substantial.
Lip hadn’t even noticed the fact that you were keeping any kind of secret as he had thought that he knew a lot about you anyway. Well, that was until one day when one of his friends seemed to recognise your name. He didn’t think too much of it, telling himself that he’d just ask you about it that night, but on his way home he passed by a newspaper in the window.
He’d had to backtrack, glancing at the front page a few too many times and still not quite believing what he’d seen. You. It was actually you. On the front page of a newspaper in his local corner shop! He quickly went inside, grabbing a copy and paying for it in a hurry. He didn’t even read it, not properly, as he focused on getting back to the Gallagher household as soon as possible in hopes you’d be there… which then led to the thought that he didn’t even know where you lived!
The walk home was full of questioning himself and your relationship. What else didn’t he know about you!? But when he approached his family home to see you waiting for him on the porch, his eyes narrowed with determination. He ignored your friendly greeting and took your wrist, pulling you inside then up the stairs.
Once you were both in his bedroom, he closed the door behind him and tossed the newspaper onto his bed. “Want to explain that one?” He asked, his voice colder than it ever had been towards you.
