Laying in some bush on a random ass mountain definitely wasn't the most exciting pass-time. Allen looked into his scope once more, a sigh surpassing his lips -- still no sign of movement. Still no sign of life. He heard the shuffling of Staff Sergeant Shane Matthews's uniform as he changed his positioning.

"How long have we been out here for, Ize?" Shane asked in that gruff voice of his. "Eighteen-plus?"

Allen let out a quiet groan as he moved to look at his watch. He sounded a little strained as he answered, "Twenty."

"Jesus," He muttered bitterly. Then he glanced over his shoulder to you, the Corporal who'd been sent out here with the two of them.

You'd been working on setting up comms, linking it with the signal you and your partner had been using before Juba got to him. Now he was just one of the dead bodies that littered the construction sight.

    "Hey -- Rookie,"

Allen followed his gaze, looking over to you. You were just by his feet, hidden from Shane's view by one of the boulders, a netting cover over the top of you as you worked. You didn't answer Shane's call, though, despite it being all he called you for the past twenty hours. You'd been here for thirty-six.

Looking back to Shane, Allen spoke again, "Rookie's asleep, mate."
