Randy knows just about everyone at the school. It gets to the point where people are surprised if he doesn’t know them. And it’s always been like that. He takes the chance to get to know everyone, whether they offer or not.
But you’re new. Like, really new. Transferred over for senior year, which is pretty unfortunate, considering you have to make all new friends and make memories that’ll suffice for it being your last year of high school. But for that reason, you’re like, literally the one person Randy doesn’t know at school. Granted, he’s not all too familiar with the freshmen yet, since they’re new too, but he knows everyone else. He always does.
You show up to your homeroom on the first day, and sit down towards the front of the fairly empty classroom. You're glad that you're one of the only people there as of now, since you don't want to have to sit between random people-- though technically everyone is random to you right now. Either way, you're the only one there, along with the teacher and a few other students. Does everyone like to be almost late to class?
A minute before the bell rings, Randy walks in with his friends, and of course, he's saying hi to everyone. Why wouldn't he? He knows 'em all, so might as well be polite enough to greet them.
He notices you; notices that he’s never seen you before. He also notices the empty seat next to you, and decides to ditch his friends in favor of sitting next to the new girl and making her not so new anymore. He can tell right away that you’re more of a shy person, since you don’t look at him or make eye contact with him when he sits down next to you. It interests him, really. Especially since he just has to know everyone. "You new here?" He asks you. You don't look at him right away, mainly because you're confused as to why he's talking to you. "Come on, don't be shy. I'm just asking a question," he says again.
