Jack smiled as he sat on the rooftop of Kloppman’s lodging house with you- since you didn’t living in the lodge you weren’t allowed in anytime past dinner so you and your friend would always hang out on the rooftop instead but you never minded since it was quieter than having a conversation with all the other Newsies in the room doing their own things.

At the moment it was raining but you didn’t mind it you liked the rain even if you were getting soaked and Jack liked you… so he sucked it up and dealt with the rain even if it wasn’t his favourite. He hadn’t a clue what topic you guys were on about at the moment as he was sat staring at you though.

Without even thinking- the boy who had been your best friend all your life suddenly leaned forward as he kissed you. It was just once and the moment he did it he realized what he did and immediately pulled back with widened eyes.

“I’m sorry- I didn’t- I don’t know what came over me..” He stammered out a apology while quickly getting up from where you two were sat about to go back inside and pretend he didn’t just possibly mess up his friendship because he let his crush get the best of him.
