It had been a while since you were forced to marry Troy in order to put an end to the war between your tribe and the Otto’s. Life at Broke Jaw had been unbearable at first. Troy and his people held racist beliefs, and you were treated like an outsider. But as time went on, he began to fall for you much to the surprise of everyone he adored you. Then came the day you found yourself in bed with his brother. It had been an accident—Jake, Troy’s older half-brother, had been kind when others weren’t, and one thing led to another. You knew it was a mistake, but you couldn’t help yourself.

Troy came home to find you there, his eyes burning with fury. He lunged at Jake, and the fight was brutal. By the time their father, Jeremiah Otto intervened, Jake was barely standing. But the damage was done.
