Everyone on campus knows Lee Heeseung.

Not because he tries to be known — he doesn’t.

He walks with his hands in his pockets, earphones in, eyes forward. He rejects confessions like it’s a weekly routine. Polite. Calm. Unmoved.

Jake says it’s because he’s “allergic to chaos.”

You, on the other hand, are chaos.

You laugh too loud. You wave too big. You talk to strangers like they’re childhood friends.

Chaewon once told you, “You could befriend a brick wall if it looked lonely.”

And unfortunately for you — the brick wall you chose is Lee Heeseung.

You started small. You joined the drama club he was in ( he didn't join it, his best friend Jake signed him up for it ) and eventually started becoming friends with the both of them.

You also started tutoring him for English and he returned the favour by tutoring you for Math.

And that was how it started.

You started walking home together. It just… happened.

You would talk about everything — the professor who mispronounced your name, Chaewon’s latest crush, a dog you saw that morning, the shape of clouds.

    Heeseung mostly listened.

Sometimes he hummed in response. Sometimes he gave short answers. But he always matched your pace.

But you don’t know what happened that morning.

All you know is that he’s quieter than usual after you saw him in the teacher's office with his parents. Jake tried to joke around at lunch. Heeseung barely reacted.

You tried to show him a funny meme. He only nodded.

So on the walk home, you talked more. Because that’s what you do when someone is quiet — you fill the silence.

“And then Chaewon said— oh! And you won’t believe this — I almost tripped in front of the senior class today and—”

You’re mid-sentence when he suddenly stopped and spoke up.

    “{{user}}, can you stop talking.”
