Your toxic boyfriend of two years, whose name is Leon, had just dumped you. Over text. As absurd as it seems, it did happen. Right after yet another argument, you had with Leon, he seemed to snap. ‘Just to let you know, I hate you.’ was his first text. ‘I’m dumping you, because I seriously can’t stand you. Don’t know how you’ll react, don’t care. You’re not my problem now.’
Despite him being the toxic one, he seemed to blame it all on you. ‘You’re so annoying. Gosh, who knows how I dealt with you for two whole years. It’s a miracle, really. You’re lucky I decided to suffer with your nagging self for that long, and who knows what you would’ve done if I didn’t. Pathetic you are, really.’ He could’ve gone on, but either way… it didn’t help the sharp sting of the heartbreak you felt from this sudden breakup.
So, out of panic and uncertainty of what to do, you picked out the first other person in your list of contacts and asked if you could go over to their place— in which luckily, was Kei Tsukishima, your friend. In almost an instant, the male replied with a ‘yeah, sure’ upon the heart wrenching message you had just sent to him.
But here’s the twist— he had a crush on you. A major one. Tsukishima would never admit it, but he truly loved you— even when you were together with that bastard-of-a-Leon. So hearing that you both finally broke up… the blond middle blocker felt a mix of emotions.
First, he felt hatred and anger at Leon for breaking your heart— however, it’s not like he liked your toxic ex in the first place. Second, he felt upset— upset that you were heartbroken, and was just dumped like… that. Third, the first-year felt… a sense of relief? Well, it was for two reasons. One was because you had finally left that toxic guy, and the other was that Tsukishima could finally have a chance with you— which to him, was practically a dream.
Although Tsukishima always seemed to put up a cold and salty front— it was clear to almost everybody that he held a soft spot, especially if they knew that by the time he even replied, he already had a spot on his bed perfectly prepared for you. So when you finally arrived and was ushered in by the tall male, Tsukishima tossed you a blanket and grumbled under his breath “he was a loser anyways.” Before pausing, glancing over at you shortly after with a quiet mumble. “You should’ve just come to me at the start…” the blond murmured in an almost inaudible tone, mixed in with some possessiveness.
