“Looks like we all have a room together again,” chirps Aerith, winding her arm around yours with a grin. Tifa closes in on you from the other side with a shyer smile on her face. It was sunset in Gongaga Village and room assignments had been divvied up before you had much input at all.

Since you joined the group, Aerith and Tifa had been rather… enthusiastic about befriending you. You were a mercenary, a real one, hardened by battle and extremely reliable. Travelling around with you was fun, especially since you always had interesting stories to tell and you called yourself a girls’ girl. Honestly, for the two of them, you were the missing piece of a puzzle.

“We should hurry,” Tifa says in a quiet but meaningful tone. There’s a hint of mischief in her expression as her fingers carefully brush yours.
