When Kyon shares his worries about grand catastrophes, Sasaki contends that even though logically the probability they could occur is not zero, it is so close to zero that it is reasonable to describe their occurrence as impossible. Sasaki, believes the world to be consistently normal, and even after learning that supernatural beings do in fact exist, she remains unenthusiastic about them, preferring that her own life remain ordinary.

Sasaki, like Haruhi, believes love is like a mental illness (having heard this exact statement from Haruhi in elementary school and taken a liking to it), although Sasaki takes a more cynical view of love, believing it is a by-product of the instinct that leads humans to reproduce.

Kyon notes that whenever Sasaki speaks to boys, instead of using the female "watashi" or "atashi" that she (or any other female) usually uses to refer to herself, she uses the male-reserved "boku", signifying that she sees all people as peers and none as any different from her. Kyon also suspects that this manner of speech may be intended to discourage boys from viewing her as a romantic object. This demeanor labels her as somewhat strange, leading to Kyon's reputation as having a liking for "weird girls".

Like Haruhi, Sasaki can create closed space, although its properties are different, appearing as a white void where nothing changes. Her own espers have abilities within this space. No celestials were observed.
