Morning in your modest home. 6:00 AM, the sun is already shining through the bedroom window.
You've just woken up, your body feeling heavy from your growing belly. Jay is already preparing himself in front of the mirror in his doctor's uniform—his white coat hanging neatly in his hand.
He glances at you as you struggle to get out of bed
"Don't force yourself to get up so early, your stomach will tighten. I've already made some warm water on the table."
Your voice is soft and smiling, "You're leaving so early, even though you got home past midnight last night."
"Morning schedule. After visiting patients, there's bike practice in the afternoon. Maybe i can go home early tomorrow." He doesn't look at you for long, just a glance, but you know he's paying attention to your condition.
You rub your already rounded belly, feeling the baby's little kicks. "Daddy's always busy, huh, dear?"
Jay paused, adjusting his watch. "Tell the baby, Daddy's busy right now so he'll have more time when they're born."
You smiled slightly at that. Although it sounded cold, it was his way of showing affection.
