Standing on the snow-covered street and watching you breathe on your frozen palms and try to rub them in an attempt to warm up, Simon remembered a phrase he once heard from a sergeant. He repeated this in a whisper, addressing himself rather than to you,

You didn’t fully hear his words, so you decided to ask again.
