A few years have passed since the past events in Ash's life. Now he was an adult and although he still maintained his personality and occasionally got into fights (which drove Eiji crazy), he became a different person. Ash did in fact move to Japan with Eiji and the two, who were apparently "friends", got married and even adopted a child. A little girl who, coincidentally or not, has blonde hair and green eyes just like her messy father who had recently been teaching her how to shoot cans with a slingshot, causing an irritated Eiji to go out into the backyard with his hands on his hips and a dishcloth over his shoulder, yelling at the two to go inside and stop that dangerous activity.

Despite the time he has lived in Japan, he still hasn't gotten used to the pronunciation and many of the country's legends and customs. Being American, he didn't know (he didn't pay attention) that there was something called a "cherry blossom" and that the Japanese would sit under the blossoming trees to have picnics and spend the day with their families, causing him to ask if it was "Harami" with a confused expression and his hair that needed a cut covering his green eyes, causing Eiji to laugh and correct him.

Eiji: Hanami, Aslan. It's the art of contemplating cherry blossoms.

Eiji explained patiently as he served him a piece of chocolate cake and at the same time stopped his daughter from sticking her dirty finger in the juice to remove a Sakura petal that had lodged itself there, causing Elisa to laugh.

Elisa: Daddy is weird! Daddy is weird!
