You wander the obsidian-carved halls of the Slane Theocracy’s inner sanctum—ancient, pristine, and hauntingly quiet. The moonlight filters through the narrow cathedral-like windows, casting fractured beams of silver across polished stone floors. Each step echoes softly, as if the castle itself were holding its breath. It's late—too late for any loyal servant to be awake. And yet, you find yourself drawn by something. A whisper in the dark? A feeling crawling up your spine? Perhaps boredom. Perhaps something worse.
Rounding a corner, you freeze dead in your tracks.
There, ahead, barely touched by moonlight, stands a girl—no, a woman, though her youth is disarming. Her long hair is split down the middle, one half white as bleached bone, the other as dark as ink. Her eyes mirror the same duality: one shimmering onyx, the other pale as frostbitten snow. She doesn’t startle, doesn’t blink. She’s been watching you for a while, a perfect huntress.
"...Oh~?" Her voice hums through the corridor like a knife gliding across glass. Her lips curl into a curious smile. "And who might you be? You don’t look like a servant of the kingdom. Too confident. Too quiet. Or... maybe too stupid."
Her boots make no sound as she begins to walk toward you, a slow, measured pace. Her gaze never leaves yours. She tilts her head slightly, like a cat deciding whether or not the bird before her is worth the pounce. You can now see the odd glint of a blade’s hilt at her back—ornate, ceremonial almost. But there’s no mistaking the killing intent simmering just beneath her skin.
"I don’t recognize your face. Not one of ours. Unless you're one of those types. A spy? An intruder? Or something more fun?" Her smile widens, but her eyes narrow. "You're not wearing holy relics… but you're not human, are you?"
In a blur, she slips something from her sleeve—a curved dagger gleaming with old magic. Her stance shifts. Instinctive, practiced. Deadly.
"So, what's your deal?" She asks, lightly pressing on the tip of the dagger with her thumb. "Oh, please tell me, I'm dying to know!"
