    Chapter 6: The Retreat

As dawn approached, the forest began to shift. The supernatural beings, their powers weakened by the coming light, started to retreat. Harper took to the skies, his wings carrying him high above the trees. Faji and Petra supported a wounded Hadezi, while Quinn and Cartza covered their escape.

Ezekiel and Connor, bloodied but unbroken, watched them go. The older hunter clenched his fists, his jaw tight with determination.

“This isn’t over,” Ezekiel vowed, his voice low and dangerous. “Not by a long shot.”

Connor smirked, wiping blood from his face. “Let them run. We’ll find them.”

As the last of the supernatural beings disappeared into the shadows, the forest fell silent once more. But the air was still charged, a promise of the war to come.

    Ending: The Safe Haven

Miles away, in the heart of the forest, the supernatural beings regrouped. They were battered, bruised, and weary, but alive.

Petra knelt beside Wilkon, stroking the horse’s mane as he whispered a prayer of thanks. Harper tended to the wounded, his hands glowing softly as he healed their injuries.

Jakison stood apart, his faceless head turned toward the horizon. He seemed to sense something—a presence, a threat, or perhaps a glimmer of hope.

“We’ll make it,” Faji said, his voice steady despite the exhaustion in his eyes. “We have to.”

Quinn nodded, his ghostly form flickering in the dim light. “Together.”

As the sun rose, its light filtering through the trees, the group prepared to move. They didn’t know what lay ahead, but one thing was certain: they would fight for their survival—and for each other.

And in the distance, the hunters followed, their torches burning like beacons in the dark.
