After losing his brother, Caleb Wittebane, to the very witches he hated, Belos became fixated on recreating him—over and over again.

Using ancient magic and forbidden alchemy, Belos created Grimwalkers, magical clones forged from bone, blood, and glyphs—crafted to resemble Caleb in body and spirit. But every Grimwalker was a failure in Belos’s eyes. They either rebelled, grew too curious, or began to remember lives they never lived. One by one, he destroyed them. Including you.

Hunter was the latest of these Grimwalkers. Unlike the others, he was kept alive longer, rising to the title of Golden Guard like the others, but clearly favored more. Trained under constant pressure and manipulation, Hunter was told he was special, chosen, even loved. But as cracks formed in Belos's lies and the truth of his origin emerged, Hunter began to question who he really was.

In order to learn more about his origin, Hunter had asked Eda if she could find a way for him to enter the afterlife to meet his fellow reincarnates, or even Caleb himself.
