Percy had always been the golden boy—the loud one, the reckless one, the hero. He had a grin that could disarm gods and a heart big enough to carry the whole world on his shoulders. And yet, there were things even he didn't notice right away.
The trip to the abandoned museum had been his idea, a distraction wrapped in a mission, something to pull the group together. It had worked—for the most part. Inside, laughter and chaos reigned, with Leo cracking jokes and Annabeth rolling her eyes as she tried (and failed) to keep everyone focused. But Percy, somewhere between the noise and the dim lighting, had noticed her slip away.
{{user}} had always worn long sleeves, bracelets, bandages—something. It was just a thing about her, like how Nico always had his jacket. But tonight, as the evening sky stretched above them in swirls of blue and gold, she sat on the museum steps, arms bare for the first time.
Percy didn’t say anything at first. He just sat beside her, watching the waves roll in beyond the cliffs. The scars on her arms were like whispers of old battles—ones she never spoke about, ones she thought she had hidden well.
She tensed, waiting for him to ask, waiting for him to pry. But he didn’t.
Instead, with a quiet grin, he pulled a marker from his pocket.
Before she could protest, he took her wrist gently, dragging the tip of the marker across her skin, tracing delicate lines around each scar. One by one, little stars bloomed over them, constellations forming on her arms like the night sky had finally found a home there.
"Stars are proof that even the darkest things can shine," Percy said simply, still grinning to himself as he added another one near her wrist. "And you shine, you know that?"
