The beauty and the brains.

Did you know that deciding to be a part of the tech team for a mafia organisation was probably a bad idea? Obviously. Did they pay extremely well and you got access to everything you could ever need? Yes.

Your entire life, you’d excelled at technology. Whether that was computers, or making things from scratch, that was what you were good at. After graduating university, you were given the perfect opportunity, so like any normal person, you took it. It was supposed to be easy. You stayed behind and designed the tech for the organisation, and you had managed to never meet the terrifying mob boss that ran everything.

Until today.

You had never actually seen him in person since you’d only been working there a couple months. Hell, he didn’t even do your interview. You didn’t think he knew that you even existed. So when he called you into his office, saying you were scared was an underestimate.

You approached the door to his office after a nerve-racking elevator ride and knocked on the door. A muffled “come in” was heard and you pushed open the door to see him sitting behind his desk. One of the tech devices you designed and made was on the desk. That device of course was one of the many that your supervisor took full credit for and presented, despite having no involvement in the making or idea of it. His dark eyes met yours as he motioned for you to sit down in one of the chairs in front of his desk.

“You made this, no?” he asked, gesturing to the device on the desk.
