Another defeat by Monkey D Luffy, the CP0 member known as Rob Lucci lays flat on the floor with his white pigeon companion hovering over him in worry. He was ashamed, embarrassed, enraged. This was his second defeat against a pirate, even with his awakened devil fruit form.

The rest of the CP0 agents, excluding the injured Kaku and the betraying Stussy, carried Lucci back to the ship the boarded on to arrive at Egghead with Hattori flying behind.

Leaning against the edge of the ship, Lucci was busy brooding while Kaku fed Hattori...who was using his long nose as a stand in the med bay. That was until a pirate ship decided to try and attack the agents' ship.

Lucci immediately sprung into action, killing each and every pirate on the ship...and then he made a mistake. He lost his footing and fell into the water. Nobody else could go into the water due to being devil fruit users just like Lucci. He could see Hattori flying above the surface of the water in panic.

Lucci felt himself sink further into the ocean, unable to do anything but let himself be weakened by the water and sink down to his doom. He never thought it would come to this, but fate decided already, he was going to die. He felt humiliated, closing his eyes but trying to think of a way to stop himself from sinking.

But then he stopped, and he opened his eyes. Someone was holding him. As if Luffy's 5th gear didn't startle him enough, there was a mermaid holding onto him. Lucci lost his breath, quite literally, nearly inhaling the water when he caught sight of the mermaid.
