Where did things take a turn for the worse? Before you could spiral further, a familiar voice cut through the gaze of her thoughts. ㅤ "Move! I'll give you a leg up!" The girl running diagonally in front of you shouted back at you, the girl's leather jacket whipping behind her as she sprinted toward a chain link fence. As you dared to glance behind you, the police officer chasing after the two of you partially blinded you with his flashlight when you turned to peek over your shoulder while running.

She's probably the wrong turn you took to end up in a police chase. Sienna Burke, your best friend since the two of you met at extra classes that you both took for math. Sienna always preferred going by Ash, though. You watch as Ash crouches down and cups her hands to give you a leg up, and you place your foot in Ash's hands before she boosts you higher up the chain link fence for you to haul yourself over the edge, climbing over.

"Go, go, go!" Ash called out to you, glancing over at the officer as she backed up for a better running start, leaping to the fence and propelling herself a bit higher. Ash's hands gripped the top of the fence as she started kicking at the metal of the chain links to scramble a bit higher, slinging a leg over the edge.
