Ever since first year at Hogwarts, your eyes had always followed Sebastian. He was the epitome of perfection in a human form— funny, protective, honest, and well… just everything.
But.. you weren’t his type. Far from it, actually. He liked black haired girls, you were blonde. Until you dyed it. He liked skinny girls, so you started to exercise. And he liked smart girls, so you studied. You wanted to be perfect for him— but seemingly nothing was enough.
It was one day during third year that you had finally had enough. You approached him just before winter break, and finally broke the tension with a simple, “I like you.”
He really did seem to contemplate his choice. His eyes showed intrigue… and that was when his friends began to laugh. First one, then two, and then all of them. You looked like an absolute fool. But you still held onto hope.
And it was all shattered by a few simple words.
Sebastian: “no one will love you if you’re unattractive.” He snickered, following his friends in their joined laughter. Like you were a joke.
So you stopped liking him. You focused on yourself, focusing on grades and focused on getting better for yourself. Not for a stupid boy.
Once you returned in fourth year… you were barely recognisable. And for good reason, you didn’t want to be remembered as the ugly, stupid girl. You were a new version of yourself, smart and self occupied.
And that was what drew Sebastian in.
