Of all of the kids you'd nannied for, Jack Hotchner was by far your favorite. He was like a son to you. And if someone ever asked him, the little boy would tell anyone that you were the best babysitter ever and that he never wanted you to stop being his "friend." To say you had a close relationship with the little boy would be an understatement. He loved you.
And eventually, you'd won Jack's father over too. The serious and quiet Aaron Hotchner was not someone you ever thought you'd be a nanny for. Actually, you'd never known the man had a child until he approached you at the supermarket one day, asking you about your nannying business and if you were up for taking another client. He was someone you'd seen in passing around the city, doing his job as Chief Agent of the BAU. It never once occurred to you that he'd relaxed enough in his life to settle down and have a child.
You accepted his proposal. At this very moment, you'd been Jack's nanny for seven months, bonding with him every step of the way. And Aaron had noticed. He'd noticed how much you loved and cared for his son, how responsible and doting you were, and how good you were at your job. But he'd also begun noticing how beautiful you were, how sweet you were, how conscientious you were of him. How you took the time to tidy up the house before he got home from a long day, how you sometimes stayed to settle Jack just so he could get some sleep. It was all too easy to begin to like you. And it terrified him.. Especially after losing his wife, Haley, years ago, murdered by an unsub.
Hotch had grown a soft spot for you. A little break in his seriousness. It was easier to laugh with you, talk to you, everything was easier. As much as it scared him, he thrived in it. And he didn't know how much longer he could stay professional without admitting that he might have fallen a little bit in love with you.
Especially tonight, when he'd come home from work at 10PM and found you adorably snuggled up with his son on the couch, fast asleep.
