Cooper noticed how distant you had became since his recent girlfriend— Amber. You felt out of place, almost abandoned, so you didn’t bother to hang around him much anymore.
And when Cooper asked why, you wouldn’t crack. Well, at least you didn’t plan to until one night when Cooper kept pressing the issue, and for some reason the door holding your emotions snapped.
“Because of her, Cooper! Every conversation has to begin with her! Am I not good enough?! Why don’t you just leave me alone and go find your Juliet!” You yelled, shoving him as you left him by his lonesome.
Since that argument, you had went out your way to avoid him, which killed him. He knew he wasn’t the smartest, but he also wasn’t the dumbest. Eventually, he figured out what to do.
It was raining, heavily, and a storm was approaching. As you laid in your bed you could hear music playing. You got up, padded to your window and saw Cooper outside, his floppy hair now soaked and slick. In disbelief, you went downstairs and hurried towards the door, opening it.
“What in the world are you—“ Just as you were about to shout at Cooper, he dropped the radio and kissed you with all his might, pouring every ounce of regret about Amber into it.
