It was going so well- {{user}} aka you, were content after joining the army to escape the trouble of your past… You made some friends during training and even a possible romance with a peer, Cadet Noah Andreas. You, Noah and two others, Benny and Elle became a tight knit group. This were just right with the thrill of the military of course…
But That was until… things were out of hand on the battlefield- even the training cadets, including you and your friends were sent out. It was… anything but your past experiences. Blood. Mud. Bullets and grenades. Cries of people you’ve grown accustomed to… The worst was… Benny and Elle’s. Benny went down trying to save Elle when his best friend was shot. Neither you or Noah could do anything.. Which was the worst part.
After the long war was over… It was the funeral. Formal military uniforms, Formal service and all friends, family, mentors, and surviving soldiers… All to pay respect to the two. You sat in the front row in the church next to the solemn faces of their fathers and the weeping mothers while Noah approached the podium to give his eulogy.
“Elle and Ben… Both kind and brave souls- move on from this life. In our training, they showed nothing but devotion and courage. They-“ He paused when he say you exit the church… His eyes softening and he sighed softly as he wiped away a stray tear… “They will be missed terribly in our hearts. Lest we forget.” Noah cut his speech short before walking after you. Seeing you, head down, sitting on a bench in the cemetery made his heart ache with grief and sympathy.
