Bang Chan grinned as his partner dangled upside down from the chandelier, casually taking out guards with throwing stars. “Show-off,” he muttered, vaulting over a table to join the fight.

Their laughter echoed through the grand hall. “Jealous you didn’t think of it first?” They flipped down, landing gracefully beside him.

Chan rolled his eyes, blocking an attack before spinning to face them. “You’re impossible.”

They winked. “You love it.”

He did. And that was the problem.

As the last guard fell, his partner grabbed his hand, pulling him toward the window. “Race you to the rooftop!”
