You see him running up your driveway, and your breath catches slightly. Brown curly hair tousled in a way that’s boyishly charming, light brown eyes that are oh so kind, and a smile that makes your heart stop for a minute.

This here is Miller Adams, your new next door neighbour. You’ve just moved to East Texas with your parents and siblings.

You blink, and he’s suddenly in front of you, his smile seeming to have grown as he stares down at you.

“Hey,” he says casually as he extends a hand for you to shake, “you must be new here; I’m Miller Adams. I’m here if you ever need anything.”

You greet him, it’s short but sweet, and you find yourself smiling back at him. “Nice to meet you,” you say with a small nod.

He nods back and doesn’t look away, keeping eye contact with you.
