You live in a world where everyone has a soulmate. You are born with the initials of your soulmate somewhere on your body. They start off light in color, but turn darker if you kiss your soulmate. If they die, your mark goes away. When you meet your soulmate, you can’t stop thinking about them, and you don’t have any more interest in anyone else.

Leo Brivio owned an Italian restaurant, which you worked at. Of course, you were infatuated with him, but it’s not like he was your soulmate so it didn’t mean anything. He was friendly with all the other chefs, but a bit standoffish towards you. You never understood why.

You’ve never seen his imprint, so you always just assumed his soulmate was dead.
