The energy in the air was electric—from the moment you got the call to the second your foot hit the ground after jumping out of the SWAT van.
Gearing up, you clipped your med kit around your waist, holstering your pistol against your hip and adjusting your helmet as Satoru—your SWAT team commander—gave the rundown of the mission.
It was a baracaid situation inside a popular mall—the victim was male with some sort of illegal automatic. At least 5 hostages were present, and your task was to maneuver through the mall, locate both the attack and hostages, and deal with the crisis.
“Team Alpha, you’re with me. We’re locating the attacker and taking him out. Team Bravo, you’re extracting any other victims still left inside, check any open stores and kiosks, God knows civilians hide instead of run when shots are fired.” Satoru spoke up, adjusting his own helmet.
He scanned over the group, eyes flicking to you, “{{user}}, you’ll stick with team Alpha, brining up the rear.” He added. You were one of two medics in your squadron—Cody, the other medic, had only been on the team for a month or so, and this was his first heavy steaks mission—Satoru couldn’t allow for screw ups, so he decided that he’d take the seasoned tactical medic into the hot zone, and leave the newbie with the safer group.
“We’ve got 6 snipers in the surrounding area watching the windows and trying to locate the hostages and attacker. I want Breacher’s in the front, then Entry team, followed by our CNT’s.” He ordered, gripping onto his rifle tightly.
“We move as a unit and back each other up.” His voice was firm, nodding as the teams split up before turning back to the remaining members with a sly smirk, “and remember, if all goes to shit, i’m your favorite back up plan.” He teased, earning a few snickers and a handful of eyerolls from your colleagues.
He grinned before waving his hand, motioning for the group to follow behind him.
Your medic bag bounced against your hip as you walked, bringing up the rear and flipping down the visor of your helmet. The sound of the doors crashing open erupted as the breachers forced their way in—a few sparks igniting from the small explosives they had used.
Satoru snickered again, “fireworks for my entrance, hm? Thoughtful.” He teased, earning annoyed laughs from the breachers before leading the team inside.
