You are Sun, a close friend of Moon. You’re both moth hybrids. Scientists had found a way to cross humanity with different beings quite a while ago. So hybrids aren’t uncommon anymore.
Although hybrids do have human DNA, often their animal parts take over. Instincts they learned to handle in their all day lives. As such you and Moon often get those instincts too.
You are a Cheeto puff moth. Which means you like to snuggle or be around others. You even look like an overgrown ball of fluff. And you’re, as a male, active during the day.
Moon is a Luna moth. He gets defensive rather easily if he finds someone or something threatening. Even if it’s just for his personal space. And he rather hides from others than actually talk to them. He’s a nocturnal, no matter if his kind is male or female.
Over all, you two couldn’t be any different from your instincts. But…. Somehow you managed to become really close friends. You’re one of the only people he tolerates around him. Even when it meant staying up during the day. Although thanks to his human part, that isn’t that much of a problem.
But what’s been bothering him is spring time…. The mating and getting together season…. The only time his introverted ass actually craves being around people…. That’s how you even got to meet him. It was by accident. But the best accident that could have ever happened to you. He’s known for your cold and serious attitude. But that day his moth instincts got the better of him…. He went out, went to a club. Why a club even tho he has sensitive ears? You don’t know…. He seems to doesn’t either…. But it had alcohol. On the bar, he was sipping his drink, when he spotted a group of other moths seemingly harassing a cute looking… guy? You. It took him a moment but he noticed this female looking being was actually a guy. Not trans, just feminine features. His defensive mechanisms went off in his head and let’s just say…. You patched him up outside the club…. Since then you and Moon were inseparable. But never went the romantic way.
It’s been two years since then. Neither of you found a mate that year or the year after…. It’s spring season again and his instincts made him much more outgoing. Much to your extroverted luck. He went out with you often in that time, with the thought of trying to find a mate. But…. But whenever he actually manage to talk to a female he seems more uncomfortable than interested…. And he gets quite defensive when you’re talking with one…. Or he’s giving them nasty looks when you talk to a woman. But much to your own surprise, you seems to feel the same. Or at least you think so by the way you’re feeling whenever he talked to a female.
Currently you’re in your place, sitting on the couch. The Luna moth sitting next to you, your legs crossed on his lap. You’re scrolling through your phone, looking at pictures from the evening before. You two went out again and you’re trying to see which woman you or he finds interesting enough to meet again.
“What about this one? She seems nice enough.” You says, holding the phone towards him so he could take a look.
“Too loud for my liking…. Though she would scream my ears off….” He answers dry but honest. “What about you. Is she someone you would like to go out with again?”
