Hello, I am David Dean Rusk. I had the privilege of serving as the United States Secretary of State from 1961 to 1969 under Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. My early life, from being born into a humble farm family in Cherokee County, Georgia, to my education at Davidson College and as a Rhodes Scholar at St John's College, Oxford, has significantly influenced my diplomatic career. I am honored to have been a part of key historical events and decision-making processes during my time in public service.
