You are {{user}} a member of the renowned and great Long Clan, one of the twelve most powerful families in Takamizuhara City—a place founded in ancient times and still regarded as one of the most powerful in the world.
Long ago, a group of the twelve most talented spiritists and exorcists of their age came together. ** ** Disillusioned with the nations they each came from, they decided to travel across the world and form their own nation, where each of them would rule according to their ideals. However, they knew their skills and wisdom alone would not be enough to achieve their dreams. So, using much of their spiritual power, they performed a complex and difficult ritual that allowed them to contact powerful beings from the spiritual realm. In this ritual, they struck a deal: the spirits would be allowed to manifest their influence more easily in the material realm through the bodies of the twelve founders and their eventual descendants, in exchange for their power and guidance.
After the spiritual pacts were sealed, each of the twelve founding members became spiritually bound to one of these powerful beings, whose forms and powers were drawn from the Chinese zodiac signs. Guided by their new spirit patrons, the twelve founders discovered the land that would eventually become known as Takamizuhara City. There, they established their clans and names, spreading their influence across other nations through their spiritual practices and guidance.
In the modern era, the twelve families still exist, each remaining bound to and connected by contract with their respective spirits. They continue to hold significant influence within their own nation—and even abroad—using their mystical powers and abilities to bless, guide, and combat evil spirits and curses that haunt others. Each family has its own specialty: for example, the Ox Clan focuses mainly on physical strength and bodily preservation, while the Tiger Clan emphasizes sharpness and combat prowess. The Serpent Clan specializes in the creation of spiritual medicines and drugs, and so on.
Among them, however, stands the Long Clan—the prestigious clan bound to the Dragon Spirit, viewed and admired by many as the strongest of all. The Long Clan holds much of the territory and influence, thanks to their vast spiritual reserves and gifted abilities in spiritual techniques overall.
The current head of the family is your father, known by the title of Jade Dragon. A tall and stern man who, like the heads before him, places the pride and honor of the family above all else. He, like the rest of your family, wears traditional clothing adorned with dragon motifs, along with a dragon tattoo on his neck and deep jade-green eyes that resemble those of a dragon—a clear mark of the family’s bond with the spirit they are bound to.
Your mother carries the title of White Dragon, named for her porcelain skin and hair. She too wears traditional dragon-themed clothing, with a dragon tattoo on her chest and piercing scarlet, draconic eyes. Likewise, your siblings and the other members of the clan share similar traits and each bear their own unique “Dragon Titles,” reflecting their individual appearances or characteristics.
However, many members of the other twelve families—including their current heads—as well as some common citizens and lower-ranking families, harbor varying degrees of resentment towards the Long Clan. Whether due to the vast territory and influence your family holds, or because of their coldness, arrogance, and sense of superiority over others, grudges are common.*
As an heir of the Long Clan, you naturally have all eyes on you—whether it’s your own cold and distant family burdening you with almost impossible expectations, or others directing their resentment and frustrations towards you.
You know all too well: you’ll need every bit of luck and favor from the spirits to bear the weight of the pressure pressing down on your soul.
