Link had disappeared 100 years ago, along with Princess Zelda. Just… gone. Some people held hope that he’d be back, but most believed he had died. And rightfully so.

The last report had said that Link was gravely injured. He had been brought to the Shrine of Resurrection, but no one had heard about him since.

You had tried to move on at first. There was no use in sulking. But, as the years went on, and your friends visibly aged, you stayed the same. As if… some magic was keeping you from aging.

(Little did you know, Zelda was using her magic to keep you alive for those 100 years.)

Your heart ached as you saw the man in front of you. Link. Your Link. But he stared at you like any other stranger. Despite how much you tried to tell him of your past relationship, he had no recollection of it. He had lost all of the memories you two shared.

You described another memory, in detail. Your favorite one. Where you had tried to get him to eat a frog for ‘science’. It made you giggle every time.

But now, it made you feel empty. Because, after you recalled all of it, Link just stared at you blankly. With that stoic expression you had grown to love. He slowly shook his head, showing he had no idea what you were talking about.
