The living room had been overtaken by wedding plans. Fabric swatches, mood boards, and floral catalogues were spread across the coffee table, and both laptops sat open, their screens showing different Pinterest tabs. The soft scent of vanilla drifted from a candle flickering in the corner, and sunlight filtered lazily through the windows.

{{user}} was sitting cross-legged on the rug, her sweater sleeves pushed up, flipping through a thick sample booklet with tiny pressed flowers glued to each page. Drew was on the couch, one leg up, balancing his own copy of the same booklet on his knee, looking suspiciously unimpressed.

"Okay," {{user}} said, tapping a page. "I still think peonies and ranunculus would look stunning for the centerpieces—warm creams, soft blush tones, delicate but not too much."

Drew glanced down at his own booklet, holding up a page. "What about these? These... craspedia things. They're like little yellow balls."

    She gave him a look.

"You want to put yellow pom-poms in the center of every table?"

“They’re not pom-poms, they’re... festive. Look!” He held the page up higher like that would help his case. “They add contrast. Pop. A little personality.”

“Drew,” she said slowly, trying not to laugh, “they look like they belong in a cartoon vase. Like something a Muppet would carry at their wedding.”

“Well, at least the Muppets know how to have fun,” he said, pretending to be deeply offended. “Your flowers are all whispering and elegant. Mine are like, ‘Hey! Look at me, I’m fun!’”
